If you don’t have a dedicated file server, you can simply use Apples File Sharing to set up one of your Macs as the server for NeoFinder.Īpple has a nice guide on how to do that: Now repeat this very same procedure on every Mac you want to use (and you have NeoFinder licenses for!)Īs NeoFinder uses the regular Preferences mechanism of Mac OS X to store the path to this shared database folder, you can use a management tool like FileWave or Apple Remote Desktop to distribute these settings to all machines. Unfortunately, Apple so far has forgotten to provide any user interface or suitable developer documentation for this. IMPORTANT : In newer macOS versions, you must grant NeoFinder network access when macOS asks for it. Īfter you have run NeoFinder, and activated your License, go to the NeoFinder Preferences, and Change the Database Folder location, so it uses the new folder that you have created in Step 1. Then install NeoFinder on one Mac, as described in chapter 2.1. Maybe name it "NeoFinder Database" or something like that. Please create a folder on any of your server or NAS volumes that will contain the shared catalog data. Please notice that you must have a valid Business License for every Mac that will run NeoFinder! Sharing NeoFinder catalog files on a file server is only possible with a NeoFinder Business License.Īlso remember that cataloging data on a server or NAS is of course possible with the NeoFinder Private License already. That is perfectly enough for the users of a NeoFinder Private License. This enables NeoFinder not only to share catalog data with other Macintosh users in a network, but also with computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, using the separate abeMeda for Windows (see chapter 2.3 )īy default, NeoFinder creates and uses a folder named "NeoFinder Database" in its NeoFinder in the "Application Support" area. Instead of using a fixed location, NeoFinder allows you to use any folder on any volume for this database. For every volume you catalog, NeoFinder will create one database file containing all the interesting information about this volume and all its files and folders. NeoFinder needs a data folder to store all your catalog files. As long as you can share a folder with files, and your clients can access these like their regular files on their computer, you can use that. There is no need for a special NeoFinder server software, and you can use any kind of file server, be it Windows, Linux, or whatnot. If you have a NAS, or any type of File Server, you can use that to share your NeoFinder database folder. NeoFinder is very flexible when it comes to sharing data between multiple computers, as you can freely choose the location of the NeoFinder Database folder where NeoFinder stores its catalog files. See chapter 3.7 for details.2.2 Multiple User Installation with a Linux or Windows File Server, or NAS See chapter 3.6 for details.Īlso, do NOT drag the NeoFinder Database folder into the main window of NeoFinder, as that will create a catalog of that folder, and that is not what you want. Please do NOT try to "Import" the catalogs, as the Import feature in NeoFinder is intended for catalog files of other applications. In this case, copy the NeoFinder Database folder from your local disk to a shared server volume, and then change the "Database Folder location" setting in the Preferences to point to the new folder on the server. This technique can also be used if you are extending your Personal License to a Business License, and you want to share your NeoFinder database with other Macs or PCs (running abeMeda for Windows) in your network. On the new Mac, once you have copied the entire Database Folder to a proper location, maybe in your Documents folder, simply show NeoFinder where that folder is located. You can also simply select LIBRARY in NeoFinder, and use the context menu to Reveal in Finder, which will show you the folder where your NeoFinder database is located:ģ. That is where NeoFinder stores the catalog files, and that folder must be copied to the new Mac. If you don't know where your Database Folder is located on your old Mac, please open the NeoFinder Preferences window on your old Mac, and look at the "Database Folder location" value. Copy the NeoFinder Database Folder from the old to the new Mac. Install the current version of NeoFinder on your new Mac, and activate your license key. If you wish to move your NeoFinder database from the existing Mac to a new one, follow these instructions:ġ. Organize your catalogs in NeoFinderĤ.7 Move your NeoFinder to a new computer

There are several to unlock over the course of the campaign, and they have game-changing consequences. For the most part, however, MCD works a treat because of clever spawn point positioning and smart procedural generation.īack to the hacks. It works here and I happily played into the wee small hours, attempting run after run, yet at the same time, just like pretty much every roguelite ever made, something almost intangible gets lost in the procedural generation, and an AI-made level still can't beat a carefully designed and professionally balanced one. Procedurally-generated levels, random elements, perma-death, soft progression across multiple plays - these are all well-known tricks deployed on smaller projects to bring additional value to the player. It's not really a traditional roguelite, but rogueish blood still pumps through its veins. Run out of hearts and your progress in that self-contained run is lost and you have to start again. Rather than the one-hit-kill missions of old, over the course of each run, you have hearts that carry over between stages and deplete as you take damage. These then stay with you until the end of that run, and the longer the run, the more missions it has, but also the more hacks you can layer on top of each other. Accessing a new area (or 'node') gives the player a string of missions, and at certain points during that string, you get a seemingly random choice between one of two hacks. These are unlocked as you play, with new areas opening up in the retro-computer system you seem to be navigating. My favourite addition is the new 'hacks'. That's not necessarily a problem for most people, and if all you're after is a clever shooter, I daresay you'll hardly notice the difference. For the most part, I like the new approach, but the carefully authored campaign of the original, which felt equal parts puzzler and shooter, has not carried over here in the same way and MCD feels less particular and bit more scrappy as a result. This has considerable benefits, which I'll get to shortly, but it also has a downside. Mind Control Delete, on the other hand, has been built in a way that you'll get plenty more bang for your buck with an extended campaign experience that leads into an infinite mode. The original stands as a complete experience that you can finish in a handful of hours. The core difference between Superhot and MCD is replayability. The first game left you wanting more time-stopping gunplay, more crystalline enemies to shatter into pieces, and more jaw-dropping playbacks where your best moves are shown in a satisfying real-time encore. A nice touch.įor everyone else who isn't already aboard the good ship Superhot, I heartily recommend the original (I booted it up last night to see just how different MCD is in comparison - it's still a blast), however, it's a finite experience that's over all too quickly. In fact, Mind Control Delete was originally intended to be a free update, and correct me if I'm wrong but anyone who buys the original Superhot while MCD is in Early Access will get this standalone as part of that initial purchase. It's a simple setup that Superhot Team managed to spin into a great debut game, a VR spin-off, and now this standalone expansion. When you move, so does time, and the faster you go, the more quickly time passes. Superhot is a visually-striking shooter with a stunning red on white art-style where time stands still when you don't move. If you've not come across Superhot before, please allow me to tell you a bit about the original, as it nicely explains the core aspects of Mind Control Delete too. Superhot Team has returned with a new standalone expansion called Mind Control Delete, and after slicing and dicing my way through its heart-stopping procedurally-generated campaign as if I was John Wick incarnate, it's time to unpack all the unique strangeness that has been added to this eye-catching shooter. Supposedly, ARKS Operatives explore entire planets to eradicate the Falspawn, but you only see a handful of procedurally generated arenas each mission. It’s a very objective-focused format that keeps things moving quickly at all times, but it loses a lot of the discovery and sense of scale that usually goes hand-in-hand with MMOs. Once you’ve accepted a mission you’ll only see people in your party and a handful of others that may be doing the same mission. Rather than have you explore a sprawling open world of interconnected zones, PSO2 uses a lobby and instance system to congregate players and allow everyone to chat and team up. The conversations that move the story forward are self-contained as story quests from the main quest-giver NPC, which prevents them from slowing down the pace of missions. All of the missions you go on have a few bits of voice over sprinkled in but otherwise it’s just about plowing through enemies and having a lot more fun as a result. Really, I think the only thing an English server would benefit me for, is the increased English support and affordable cash shop currency.“And so in an unusual but much-appreciated move, PSO2 almost completely removes its exposition from the actual game. You can actually copy-paste to/from the game, so you can use a translator if you need to. Of course, if you are going to talk to people, it's best to learn at least basic Japanese, or speak in very simple English. As long as you are courteous and polite to other players, you're pretty much welcome to play on the JP server, and they will be nice to you in return. It's a shame that it's likely never coming out officially in English, but there is an English patch for the Japanese server which translates the in-game text into English. There are some pretty cool and affordable male outfits, though. Girl clothing obviously costs a lot more, since the majority of players(both male and female irl) choose female characters. It's a god-send since boss fights are so action-packed, and you will need your hands to keep moving/dodging/attacking.īuying cash for the game can be extremely costly due to the marked up prices of Japanese pre-paid cards online, but you can actually buy most of the cash shop items(like clothes) with money you earn in the game. The auto-word system is extremely useful, and you can set it up to do neat things like announce your coordinates for event spawns, to quickly notify your allies to come help. There's also a tank boss that is my personal favorite, where you destroy its' smaller guns and turrets to weaken it, then go for the weak spot. For example, there is one boss which you have to wait for it to go into a specific stance, then shoot it with a turret to weaken it. Some require strategy, timing, and weak points to take down efficiently. If you like boss fights in console games, you will love these. It's really fun and a good way to meet players while in a mission.Įach planet/area of missions has its own big boss as well, which is very fun. Some maps of a mission may be a "party area", where you might run into other parties besides your own, and you ALL cooperate to defeat stronger monsters/bosses. Even if you repeat the same mission, it keeps it interesting by randomly spawning "trials" throughout, where special events or monster spawns might happen, and you can go through a sort of optional mini-mission for extra points. The gameplay is mostly mission-based, but it's pretty unique. It's small, but still fun to decorate and hang out in. They've also made a change that lets everyone have their own room for free now, instead of paying. I really like that you can switch between third person camera and an(almost) first person camera. I play this on the Japanese server, and I can say that this is probably my favorite combat system in any MMO, with Mabinogi coming in second. We’ll see if momentum and health will mean the streak of Sweet 16s continues.Everybody loves playing Rust, a popular MMO game on the internet. However, even with that distraction headed into the conference tournament, The Horned Frogs beat a really good Kansas State team and fell just short against a red-hot Texas team 66-60.Īll of this to say, as the Zags are entering the tournament with their rotation playing their best, the same can’t be said for many of the teams lined up in the West Region. The Horned Frogs are also dealing with a rocky situation with the departure of former star big man Eddie Lampkin, who stepped away from the team prior to the Big 12 tournament. He hasn’t looked the same returning, but defending a downhill guard has been the achilles heel of this Gonzaga defense for much of the season. The team leans on Miles to get to the cup, a skillset hampered by a knee injury that caused him to miss five games last month. Miles is the heart of Jamie Dixon’s squad, especially on the offensive end. Point guard Mike Miles was one of those pieces missing throughout the year, playing in 25 of the team’s 33 games. The Horned Frogs were a popular top-10 pick in the preseason, which was short-lived due to a season mired by injuries. It’s the 6 seed matchup that could be a rocky battle for the Zags, with TCU looming should chalk prevail on Thursday. But again, thankfully no need to worry about those foes again until the weekend in Las Vegas should it come to it. Gonzaga has plenty of old drama on the other side of their region, with Saint Mary’s earning the 5 seed and Arkansas as the 8 seed. For Gonzaga to succeed against a Huskies team ranked in the top 20 in both offense and defense they’ll need Drew Timme and company to pin fouls on the hack-heavy team (ranked eight in KenPom for highest opponent free throw rate). The Huskies have ample size and tenacity in the frontcourt, a perfect pairing to their backcourt of shooters and scorers. The 4 seed UConn has all the components to go deep and luckily the Zags wouldn’t face them until the Elite Eight. This does not necessarily make UCLA a likely upset pick, but it does diminish their ceiling. Center Adem Bona also is dealing with a shoulder injury, though head coach Mick Cronin is confident he’ll be ready to play early in the Bruins’ postseason. Without Clark, the Bruins will need to lean on freshmen Amari Bailey and Dylan Andrews. He was an anchor for the Bruins’ top-ranked defense (according to KenPom) and had an even better care for the basketball than steadyhanded point guard Tyger Campbell. Clark blossomed with an expanded role in his junior season. Then the Bruins lost Jaylen Clark for the rest of the season with an achilles injury. The 2 seed is a stalwart defense-first UCLA team that going into March had the components of a championship contender: NBA-level talent, albeit coming from their younger rotational pieces, and senior leadership both in the frontcourt and backcourt. Interestingly enough, Kansas is ranked behind Gonzaga in the KenPom standings on Selection Sunday. It hasn’t been announced yet if Self will be coaching or traveling with the team. But it's hard to imagine the Jayhawks will not be affected by the health implications of head coach Bill Self, who was hospitalized during the Big 12 tournament, requiring stents to be placed in his heart. Kansas played a complete, competent season as a top-10 team every week of the AP poll. What makes the region particularly appealing for the Zags is the vulnerability of the two top seeds. We’ll have a more thorough breakdown of GCU later in the week. The Antelopes rank 23rd in the country for 3-point shooting. Grand Canyon will try to fight Gonaga’s fiery offense with its own scoring firepower. Gonzaga’s first game is in the late afternoon on Friday, playing a Grand Canyon team that went inferno hot in the WAC conference tournament to steal the league’s bid despite its sixth-place finish. There is always the chance for rust, we saw this in the opening round last season against Georgia State, but Gonzaga getting this bracket while playing their best basketball of the season and without the attention of the last two tournaments should be a welcomed change of pace. The Zags earned a 3 seed after turning the jets on in February and will get to play out west with favorable matchups sprinkled throughout the way. The path is set and though you won’t hear it from the coaching staff, Gonzaga must be absolutely ecstatic with the draw the selection committee gave them on Sunday. For example, after Senegal beat Poland, Twitter account Watch LFC - a Liverpool fan account with more than 85,000 followers - tweeted that winger Sadio Mané put in a “ fantastic shift” for Senegal, citing both his pace and power. In his piece, Madu also noted how seamlessly the racist language slips from commentators to social media accounts with massive followings. It’s the historical idea of the black man as a senseless brute, repackaged in sporting language.” Before Senegal had even kicked the ball, they were being described not by their skill, creativity, or their decision making, but with the standard words you hear about African teams: Pace, power, physicality, raw talent, tactical naivety, disorganization, swagger, and all the other terms that are part of the same old language that pretends to compliment black players by reducing them to their physical bodies and derides them for not mentally understanding the game. “As annoying as it always is, it’s never surprising to see commentators fall back on coded language when they have to discuss black players, especially Africans, in soccer. Zito Madu scrutinized the media’s response to Senegal’s victory in a piece for SB Nation: After gesturing toward co-host Patrice Evra - who is Black, and who won five Premier League titles and a Champions League title with Manchester United and two Serie A titles with Juventus - Bilić said: “Senegal - which is not typical for African teams - they play for each other, and they deserved totally. Take, for example, the comments from former Croatia manager and current West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilić after Senegal beat Poland in the 2018 World Cup. While the study focused on in-game statements, Lee told FiveThirtyEight that it could certainly have included statements from studio segments. “Which is that people from different ethnic groups can do exactly the same things in a game and yet be described in a different way.” “The study is important as it what a lot of people already know,” said Jason Lee, the equalities education executive for the PFA and a former Premier League player, over WhatsApp. The study also found that players with darker skin were often reduced to racist tropes about their speed and strength, which is often coded by commentators as “pace and power.” 2 The study found that, weighting for the different number of comments made about each group, players with lighter skin were praised more frequently for their intelligence (62.6 percent of the comments coded as positive were about players with lighter skin), work ethic (60.4 percent) and overall quality (62.8 percent), while 63.3 percent of criticism about a player’s intelligence was aimed at players with darker skin, along with 67.6 percent of criticism about a player’s quality. The study included 1,361 comments about players with lighter skin and 713 comments about players with darker skin. Researchers from RunRepeat sampled 80 games from the 2019-20 seasons of the English Premier League, French Ligue 1, Italian Serie A and Spanish La Liga - broadcast across seven different networks 1 - and analyzed more than 2,000 statements made by commentators about 643 unique players. A new paper published by Danish sports data company RunRepeat and backed by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) makes it clear that soccer commentary in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada has a racism problem. As soon as one begins, the observable effects become apparent. Both as an intensely personal experience, and within the remarkable metamorphoses of group consciousness, transformation occurs very quickly. What is so compelling about Lujan's methods and movement forms are the immediate effects on consciousness and the physical results, which are nothing but extraordinary. However, he does not beckon recognition for this but uses his capacities to invite exponential growth, in himself and in others, and this inner stance is revealed in his every gesture. As a person who has devoted himself to advanced physical, spiritual and interpersonal evolutionary principles and disciplines for a lifetime, his attainment as a human being is immediately evident. Lujan's comprehensive teachings provide lasting tools to allow one to recognize and develop their own personal relationship with the unknown. Once this is absorbed, anything that does not resonate with this quality of communion is innately understood to be void of meaning. As a teacher and guide, Lujan is able to offer a genuine experience of how this feels. Nowing this, you still need to be aware of the following when implementing Unity Network remote event with PlayMaker. It doesn't matter if the event is global or not. In short, don't expect a PlayMaker global event to be broadcasted, instead, it's only within the Fsm that you will receive that remote event. I forget that since I am used now to the way it works with Photon PlayMaker port. RPC call only send to the networkView ID, that is the event you send from playmaker will only be fired to the SAME fsm observed by a networkView. Ok, everything is "fine", here is the few catches. Thanks in advance as always for all the help. Is there any example anywhere of this being set up for a networked game and properly working? This is something that is really, really needed. There's nothing in them at all about sending messages. (I'm guessing they are actually encoded into the main Playmaker framework and are not accessible?)Īnyway, I've found the networking examples on the website here, but all they do is go through the very basic steps of connecting players. I've checked the SendRemoveEvent.cs script and I see it's using a standard networkView.RPC call, so all I can think of is that whatever is done when you click the "Global flag" on the event isn't setting up the event as a proper RPC or something along those lines, though I can't seem to find where the actual FSMs are stored to check that. When played, the FSM proceeds normally to the state containing the SendRemoteEvent, but the global event it's set to never gets triggered. Additionally, a network View has been attached to the object containing the FSM and is set to observe the FSM. The "Remote Event" field is then set to the global event, "Game Object" is left on the default "Use Owner", and "Mode" is set to default "All". (I attach this by right-clicking on the state and selecting "Add global transition>Global Events>myGlobalEvent) I then have another state that has a global transition going into it. I've created a simple FSM that's set up so that when the right mouse button is clicked, it goes to a second state that contains the SendRemoteEvent action. I ask this question because I can't seem to make it work and I can't find any examples of this in use anywhere, so I have nothing to go by. |
